Whisky Experiential Ambassador
Gordon Dallas was appointed last year as Ian Macleod’s first ever Whisky Experiential Ambassador.
He is a veteran of the British comedy scene in the 1990’s as one half of the comedy double act ‘Dallas and Packer’. It was during one of their 9 Edinburgh Fringe performances that they were invited to write for BBC Radio and TV, writing links and sketches for the likes of Graham Norton, Ainsley Harriet, Vernon Kaye, S Club 7, Matthew Kelly and even Keith Duffy from Boyzone, (who wouldn’t let him in the band!).
From there Gordon went his own way and became a radio phone-in host for TalkSport’s Scottish station, Talk107, interviewing most Scottish footballers of note and even the likes of Rod Stewart, Irvine Welsh and The Proclaimers, (who also wouldn’t let him in the band!).
From 2009 he appeared on numerous radio shows as a guest including BBC5Live, Radio 4, Radio Scotland, Radio Ulster, World Service and BBC 3 Counties. He joined Glengoyne as a Tour Guide in 2015 and set about writing his own one-man whisky history show which he took around the country culminating in performing an extract of it at the Opening Gala Dinner of the 2018 Spirit Of Speyside Festival. That same year he wrote and performed ‘Unhurried’ at the Edinburgh Festival.
In 2019 he became IMD’s Experiential Ambassador with his first job to research and write the Glengoyne Story, which became Glengoyne’s first new offering for several years, The Glengoyne Storytelling Experience.
He loves sherry cask matured single malt, good food and even better company.
