Ian Macleod Distillers today announces its new partnership with De Monnik Dranken as distributor for its renowned Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky in the Netherlands, with effect from 1 May 2017.
De Monnik, a family-owned business since 1918, is an esteemed beverage wholesaler and brand building importer that is based in Oldenzaal, The Netherlands.
Stuart Thompson, Area Director for Europe said: “We are delighted to begin cooperation with such a respected company in the industry. Both Ian Macleod Distillers and De Monnik Dranken share similar family values. The time is right to take this next step and we are confident this new partnership will continue to develop the awareness and distribution of Tamdhu across the Netherlands”.
Mr Luuk Olde Monnikhof, Commercial Director at De Monnik Dranken, said: “We are absolutely delighted to start this cooperation with Ian Macleod. There is a growing demand in the Dutch market when it comes to craft spirits and special whisky’s in particular. We are experienced and familiar with this segment and it’s doubtless that a distillery with so much heritage like Tamdhu will add value to our portfolio. Given the changing and turbulent market at the moment we are confident that both companies can help each other to the next level in the near future’’.
Tamdhu is owned by one of Scotland’s leading, independent family-owned distillers, Ian Macleod Distillers. Tamdhu was born on the banks of the River Spey, Scotland in 1897 – an era when anything seemed possible. When obstacles were there to be overcome, an age of the Can-Dhu-Spirit.
Tamdhu’s quality is defined by the hint of peat in its malted barley, the natural Speyside water that is drawn directly from the Tamdhu spring and the 100% exclusive use of only the finest sherry oak casks.
