Ian Macleod Distillers today announces its extended partnership with Filliers Distillery as distributor for Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky in Belgium, with effect from 1 May 2017.
Stuart Thompson, Area Director for Europe said:
“Both Ian Macleod Distillers and Filliers Distillery share similar family values. Filliers already distribute our Glengoyne Highland Single Malt, Smokehead Islay Single Malt, The Six Isles Blended Malt and London Hill Gin. The time is right to take this next step and we are confident Filliers will continue the growth and development of Tamdhu across Belgium."
Bernard Filliers, Managing Director for Filliers Distillery, said:
“We are extremely proud to be taking over the distribution of this renowned whisky. The strategic acquisition of the distribution of Tamdhu has arisen from our desire to expand our portfolio of top-of-the-range imported products. We have numerous things in common with Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd: a history going back many generations, the independent character of both of these companies, and the marketing of products manufactured with passion, a desire for quality and know-how”.
Tamdhu is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers and was born on the banks of the River Spey, Scotland in 1897 – an era when anything seemed possible. When obstacles were there to be overcome, an age of the Can-Dhu-Spirit. Its quality is defined by the hint of peat in its malted barley, the natural Speyside water that is drawn directly from the Tamdhu spring and the 100% exclusive use of only the finest sherry oak casks.
