Isle of Skye 8 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky and Tiso launch a second year of the popular Munro Challenge in aid of Scottish Mountain Rescue.
Open to all, bag a Munro this September and fly the flag for Scottish Mountain Rescue.
Following the success of last year’s dedicated fundraising initiative, ‘The Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky Munro Challenge’ will once again take place throughout September of this year. The Munro Challenge encourages Scots of all ages and abilities to take on one of Scotland’s imposing Munros in aid of Scottish Mountain Rescue.
Outdoor specialist Tiso have announced that they will once again partner with Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky in order to support the Challenge which raised a staggering £21,000 for Scottish Mountain Rescue last year. All monies raised this year will again go directly to Scottish Mountain Rescue, helping to buy essential new equipment and implement further avalanche training.
With approximately 600 call-outs each year, Scottish Mountain Rescue is under increasing pressure and the money raised through the Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky Munro Challenge will generate crucial funds and help raise awareness of the charity’s exceptional voluntary work.
In 2013 Ian Macleod Distillers, owners of Isle of Skye 8 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky, unveiled a three-year sponsorship of Scottish Mountain Rescue. A special UK edition of Isle of Skye 8 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky featuring a bespoke Scottish Mountain Rescue label is currently on sale with 15p from every bottle sale going direct to the charity.
Neil Boyd, Commercial Director for Ian Macleod Distillers, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Tiso again this year for ‘The Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky Munro Challenge’, based on the fantastic engagement seen during the 2014 Challenge. The Challenge is part of our landmark sponsorship of Scottish Mountain Rescue and campaigns like ours show how we can all help support the deserving charity.”
Chris Tiso, CEO of Tiso Group, added: “We are proud and privileged to be a part of ‘The Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky Munro Challenge’ for a second year running. Last year’s results prove that this is a great initiative which raises both awareness and critical funds for a worthy cause. We will be on hand to provide expert advice on clothing and equipment, including safety aids.”
Simon Steer, Chair of Scottish Mountain Rescue, said: “Scottish Mountain Rescue is proud to provide a world class service at any hour, on any day, in any weather. Our volunteers provide a remarkable combination of skill and commitment but they cannot deliver this service without the financial means to do so. Scottish Mountain Rescue relies heavily on donations to keep doing what we do so well. We are immensely grateful to both Ian Macleod Distillers and Tiso for their tremendous support.”
Whether it is one individual looking to climb a Munro for the first time, families taking on the challenge or groups of friends teaming up together, this sponsored challenge offers a great opportunity to fly the flag for Scottish Mountain Rescue.
