Modern Scottish Brands Announce Partnership

Smokehead Cocktail Glass on Bar23 April 2007; London's leading Scottish restaurant and bar, Albannach, and the award-winning contemporary whisky brand Smokehead, have joined forces to offer a range of innovative new cocktails.

The Smokehead cocktails, which will be launched to time with the introduction of England's smoking ban on 1 July, have been designed by bar manager, Jim Wrigley.

Using the naturally strong and peaty flavours of the Malt whisky, Jim has designed three exclusive cocktails:

  • Draconis: a smokey mixture of apple, cherry and coffee
  • Island Sling: a sweet cherry and lemon whisky cocktail
  • Smokezilla: a strong vanilla and Grappa cocktail

30ml Smokehead

20ml Pressed Apple Juice

10ml Creme de Cerise

10ml Araku rum & coffee liqueur

5ml   Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

Shake and strain over cubed ice in a rocks glass.  Garnish with a mint sprig and a flamed orange zest.

Island Sling:

40ml Smokehead

20ml Maraschino Liqueur

20ml Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

10ml Sugar Syrup

Dash Angostura Bitters

Shake and Strain over cubed ice in a sling.  Garnish with a lemon wedge and a fresh stem cherry.


40ml Smokehead

20ml Navan Vanilla Cognac Liqueur

15ml Roner Pinot Noir Grappa

Dash Orange Bitters

Stir and fine strain into a frozen cocktail glass.  Garnish with a white chocolate coated vanilla pod spiral
