It’s a very exciting time here at IMD – we are currently experiencing growth and as our markets mature, our business continues to move from strength to strength… you could say this is just like one of our own fine single malts! We have even bigger plans ahead of us. Our business is thriving and as we expand, we now have a requirement to appoint a National Accounts Manager into our new UK Business Unit.
As this is a new role and a stand-alone position in our team, candidates must clearly demonstrate previous working experience in a similar role. We will be looking for an account management and client services expert, who has worked in a UK national account capacity previously within this sector. The ideal person also needs to have significant sales and brand experience and be able to demonstrate their practical skills in how they have effectively engaged and influenced key accounts, across a variety of consumer and customer bases. The overarching objective for this role will be to manage and develop our brand and own label business with multiple retailers across brand names in the local, national and multinational business space. Knowledge and understanding of the whisky and spirits market is also a given. This role is the conduit between sales, brand and customer support teams ensuring that our brand portfolio has the breadth and depth of reach across multiple retailer bases, that in turn drives additional sales and revenue through our business.
A proactive, warm and engaging individual, who is commercially astute, confident, professional and articulate, are all key qualities that we are looking for. To be successful in this role, individuals need to be numerate, organised, diligent and approachable. We also need candidates to show effective project management skills and have a list of positive achievements that they can tell us about in terms of their sales through service successes and general account management and client services activities. Influencing and negotiating should be your middle names! Being flexible in your approach, a team player, and someone who is positive, proactive and curious will be invaluable, as will being able to adopt a working approach rooted in the principles of continuous improvement and a desire to provide customer excellence!
Knowledge of and practical working experience with, account and sales databases such as Salesforce will be essential, as will IT literacy across MS packages. An understanding and appreciation of both sides of the customer and provider coin will also be invaluable.
Interested?... Oh yes! We’d love to hear from you. Application is by way of CV and initial cover letter. Please ensure that you tailor your cover letter accordingly – We want you to clearly demonstrate what skills and experiences you will be bringing to the table and for you to show us why you match perfectly against our requirements!
