18 May 2006, Edinburgh: Bob Begley aka 'Bar Towel Bob', the Guinness World Record holder for the largest ever collection of bar towels was delighted to receive five Ian Macleod additions to his vast collection.
Ian Macleod Distillers donated Glengoyne, Isle of Skye, London Hill Gin, King Robert Scotch and Hedges and Butler branded towels to add to the array of colourful bar towels that Bob has been collecting for more than 15 years.
'Bar Towel Bob', who is currently the proud owner of 3,027 bar towels from 27 countries, commented: 'Ian Macleod Distillers were by far the most generous of any organisation that I have asked to help with my collection'.
'Bar Towel Bob' became the official world record holder in January this year but has been collecting since 1990 when he was serving in the US Navy. Bob has always had an interest in collecting things - inspired by his Grandmother who used to collect old pennies.
